Govt launches eight immunity boosting products under PMBJP
On 3rd September 2020, Chemicals and Fertilisers Minister D V Sadananda Gowda launched eight immunity boosting products under PMBJP for sale through Janaushadhi Kendras across country. ‘Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana’ – PMBJP is a campaign launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Govt. Of India, to provide quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses through special distribution centers known as Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra.
Current Status of PMBJP:
The Scheme been providing over 900 quality generic-medicines and 154 surgical equipments & consumable at affordable prices for every citizen of the nation. Presently , more than 6300 PMJAKs are functioning across the nation covering 726 districts of the country.
Launch of 8 immunity boosting products under PMBJP
On 3rd September 2020, 8 immunity boosting products under PMBJP for sale through Janaushadhi Kendras across country. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Gowda informed that the launch of new nutraceuticals is significant in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. These products will help in boosting immunity of the people. He said that products are comparable in quality and are cheaper by over 26 per cent than the market price.
The Minister hoped that through the massive network of Janaushadhi Kendras, the immunity boosting- protein products will reach a large population promoting good health.
Mr Gowda also informed that around 10 lakh patients visit the six thousand 500 Janaushadhi stores every day, to purchase quality generic and affordable medicines. This scheme is becoming a boon for patients who are supposed to take medicines for chronic ailments like diabetes, blood pressure and psychotropic.
