Shuchi Partners with HPCL to Build EV Charging Points at Petrol Pumps
On 17th March 2021, Shuchi Anant Virya has announced its partnership with ONGC owned Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) , to set up a pan-India network of public EV charging points at its retail outlets.
Shuchi Anant Virya is a 50:50 joint venture of Renewable Energy Company Fourth Partner Energy and EV fleet operator Lithium Urban Technologies. The company was formed in May 2019 to set up for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. Currently, Suchi owns and operates EV charging hubs in Gurugram and Pune.
This JV has already unveiled its first solar-powered EV charging hub in Gurugram, which is capable of charging 25-30 vehicles simultaneously. A second charging facility has been commissioned in Pune, Maharashtra. As per the JV terms, Hyderabad-headquartered Fourth Partner Energy provides a mix of onsite & offsite solar solutions and renewable energy trading options to power Lithium’s fleet, while the latter is the anchor client providing base demand across hubs.

The installation of these charging points will be done in a phased manner across the country. The network will include both, fast and slow chargers for all vehicular segments – two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars, and buses.
Furthermore, Shuchi has developed in-house cloud-based technology for easy deployment, operation, and maintenance of these charging units.
“Via this partnership, Shuchi plans to create a network in the Tier-I cities, to begin with, followed by an expansion to Tier-II cities and national highways. The company is also gearing up to provide charging as a service for buses as well as freight vehicles for last-mile logistics. Our larger goal is to power the EV charging network with 100% renewable energy sources.”
Saif Dhorajiwala, Co-founder & Executive Director of Fourth Partner Energy
“The EV sector is at an inflection point – addressing gaps in charging infrastructure and ensuring the affordability of electric vehicles will be essential. Our partnership with HPCL addresses the pervasive access and availability of the EV charging network across India.“
