NOM Company Edible Straws: Lemon, Vanila
NOM Company aims to build solutions to prevent food and related items from getting waste through innovative products like “FoodBox“ which will enhance and improve the shelf life of fruits, vegetables and bakery items by 40-50% thus saving tonnes of food items from getting wasted. At the same time, the startup is also looking to tackle problem of plastic waste by developing alternatives to single-use plastics like plastic-straws. The NOM Company has developed edible straws from made from wheat and rice flours, vegetable oil, sugar and flavouring. Flavours include vanilla, butterscotch, mint, chocolate and lemon-citrus. The straws are 100% biodegradable and an amazingly tasty snack for beverages. Apart from straws, they also offer edible coffee & cocktail stirrers.
Founders
Simran Rajput & Shashank Gupta
Simran Rajput comes from a chartered accountancy background and has more than 3 years of work experience. Shashank Gupta is a graduate from IIT Guwahati and has an engineering background with 3+ years of work experience in startups. What started as a casual conversation between Simran & Shashank on sustainability solutions soon turned into a small project in which they both started working together and eventually led to the NOM Company.

The flavoured edible straws are made from wheat flour, rice flour, sugar, vegetable refined oil and 15+ ingredients. The straws are FSSAI approved, 100% biodegradable and are ready to be eaten as baked snack item for your beverages. Every pack contains 15 units of straws which can be used with any type of beverages.
